Looking back and ahead

This day will offer something for everyone – no matter the experience level.
After starting slow with a short Data Access 101, we will kick-off the day of proper with a keynote by an experienced data access researcher. We will also look back on lessons learned from data access based Art. 40(12) to then take a look at future possibilities of data access with the delegated act on Art. 40(4) in force. Based on these inputs, we will break out to discuss strategies to further a healthy data access ecosystem. We will end the day considering data access beyond the DSA before coming together for a dinner in the heart of Berlin.

Hands-on sessions

On this day we will get down and dirty with applications for 40(4) data access.
The first half of the day will include first getting acquainted with relevant provisions and taking a look at the DSA data access portal – the central platform for privileged data access. Other relevant aspects we plan to explore in-depth are: funding, data availability as well as data security and data protection. During the second half we will put everything learned thus far into practice, banding together to work on collective or individual data access requests, with experts present to help with any potentially arising issues.
